Jesse Ventura Interview: Inspiration From Billy Graham & Muhammad Ali; 2024 Plans
I recently shared some damn good discourse with the pro wrestling legend and the political "Rebel Without A Party."
To pinpoint when I became aware of Jesse Ventura in my youth would be a tough one. I was just 13 when “The Body” became “The Mind” and therein the Governor of Minnesota. However, I think me and my brother’s twice-a-week trip to Ferragine’s Home Video in Ridgway, PA put his pro wrestling presence on my radar way before that.
Ventura has been well out of the spotlight of the squared circle for quite awhile, but has found himself going against the grain of something that shares an even stronger semblance to the carnival: American politics.
“The Body” has been bucking the trend of the two-party convention since he got in the game 25 years back, but it would be hard to argue his time behind the mic didn’t help him show that fearlessness in speaking his mind in front of the establishment in all sorts of office.
I was able to catch him for an interview on behalf of AdFreeShows.com as he talked America’s current state before diving into his adoration for Muhammad Ali, his idolization of “Superstar” Billy Graham and the respect he’ll always have for Bruno Sammartino. Plus, we also chat about the cinematic classics in “Dirty Harry” and “JAWS.”
The full conversation is below, but be sure to “make my day” and check out Ventura’s Substack,
as well.
